These Terms and Conditions govern your use of MyChessPlace, including our website, courses, quizzes, game review, bots, and related chess training features.

By using MyChessPlace, you agree to these Terms.
1. What MyChessPlace provides
MyChessPlace is an online chess education platform. It may include:
- Chess courses
- Interactive lessons
- Quizzes and exercises
- Game review
- Chess bots
- Uploaded PGN/game analysis
- Training tools and other educational features
The platform is designed to help users improve their chess understanding, but we do not guarantee any specific rating gain, tournament result, or performance improvement.
2. Account registration
To use some features, you may need to create an account.
You agree to provide accurate information and keep your login details secure. You are responsible for activity that happens through your account.
You must not share your account in a way that violates these Terms or allows unauthorized access to paid content.
3. Age requirement
MyChessPlace is intended for users aged 16 and above.
If you are under 18, you should use the platform with permission from a parent or legal guardian.
4. Payments
Paid products, courses, or subscriptions may be offered on MyChessPlace. Payments are processed through Stripe or another payment provider shown at checkout.
Prices, offers, and available products may change over time.
You are responsible for any taxes, payment fees, or currency conversion fees that may apply depending on your location or payment method.
5. Refunds
Unless stated otherwise at checkout, MyChessPlace offers a voluntary 30-day refund guarantee for paid course purchases.
Eligible refunds can be requested through the refund button available in your account/order area. Refunds are processed back to the original payment method through Stripe or the payment provider used at checkout.
After a refund is processed, access to the refunded product may be removed.
To keep the refund process simple and fair, each paid order can be refunded only once. If you refund a product and later decide to purchase it again, you are welcome to do so.
However, to prevent abuse, the voluntary 30-day refund guarantee is limited to two refunded purchases of the same product per user/account/payment method. If you purchase the same product again after two previous refunds, that purchase will not be covered by our voluntary 30-day refund guarantee. Where this applies, we will show a clear notice before checkout.
This limitation only applies to MyChessPlace's voluntary 30-day refund guarantee. It does not affect any mandatory consumer rights you may have under applicable law.
6. Educational content and chess tools
MyChessPlace content is educational.
Chess evaluations, quizzes, bots, and game review features are meant to support learning, but they may not always be perfect, complete, or suitable for every position.
You should not treat any platform output as a guaranteed best move, final authority, or replacement for your own judgment.
7. Course updates and changes
We may update, improve, reorganize, add to, replace, or remove parts of our courses, exercises, videos, explanations, examples, and other training materials from time to time.
We do this to improve the learning experience, correct mistakes, keep content clear and relevant, update examples, improve exercises, remove outdated or low-quality material, or adapt the course to changes in the platform.
Where possible, we aim for these changes to improve the overall value of the course. We do not intend to remove substantial parts of a paid course in a way that materially reduces the value of what you purchased.
If a significant change materially affects your access to paid content, we will try to provide reasonable notice or a fair solution where appropriate. This does not affect any mandatory consumer rights you may have under applicable law.
8. Uploaded games and PGNs
You may upload PGNs or chess games to use certain features.
By uploading a game, you give MyChessPlace permission to store, process, display, and analyze that game as needed to provide the platform features.
Uploaded games are treated as private by default unless we clearly offer a sharing or public feature and you choose to use it.
You must only upload games or content that you have the right to use.
9. Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- Use MyChessPlace for illegal purposes
- Try to hack, disrupt, overload, or damage the platform
- Share, resell, copy, or redistribute paid content without permission
- Scrape or copy large parts of the website or content
- Upload malicious files or code
- Attempt to access accounts, data, or systems that do not belong to you
- Use the platform to cheat in live games, tournaments, or events where outside assistance is prohibited
We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these rules.
10. Intellectual property
The MyChessPlace website, courses, text, diagrams, explanations, exercises, videos, branding, design, and other materials are owned by MyChessPlace or licensed to MyChessPlace.
You receive a personal, non-transferable license to use the content for your own learning.
You may not copy, reproduce, publish, sell, distribute, or create competing products from MyChessPlace content without written permission.
11. User content
You keep ownership of content you upload, such as PGNs or games.
However, you grant MyChessPlace the limited right to process and use that content as needed to provide the service, improve functionality, maintain security, and comply with legal obligations.
12. Service availability
We try to keep MyChessPlace available and working properly, but we do not guarantee uninterrupted access.
The platform may be unavailable due to maintenance, updates, technical issues, hosting problems, or events outside our control.
We may add, remove, or modify features over time.
13. Account suspension or termination
We may suspend or terminate your account if:
- You violate these Terms
- You misuse the platform
- You attempt to access paid content without permission
- You create security, legal, or operational risk
- We are required to do so by law
You may stop using the service at any time.
14. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent allowed by law, MyChessPlace is not liable for indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages, including loss of data, loss of profits, loss of opportunity, rating loss, tournament results, or chess performance.
Nothing in these Terms limits liability that cannot legally be limited.
15. Privacy
Your use of MyChessPlace is also governed by our Privacy Policy, which explains how we collect and process personal data.
16. Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. When we make important changes, we will update the "Last updated" date and may notify users where appropriate.
Continued use of MyChessPlace after changes means you accept the updated Terms.
17. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of Romania, unless mandatory consumer protection laws in your country provide otherwise.
If you are a consumer in the European Union, you may have mandatory rights under the laws of your country of residence that these Terms do not override.
